Aprilish with a cutfile

Hello!

I say Aprilish because mother nature has been a little finicky with us here in Michigan.  We had three beautiful, 70-something degree days, and some days where it didn’t get above freezing.  I was really hoping for a beautiful spring day today, but the forecast only calls for a high of 57.  Bummer.  Oh well, I keep hearing that we are going to go from cold to hot, so I will stick out the cold stint.  At least the trees are blooming.

I have two little videos on my youtube channel if you’d like to check those out, they’re just haul videos.  I want to work on some process videos, but first I need to get some sort of space worked out.  I was thinking about buying a little tripod for my phone, it is just easier to use my phone instead of my camera, as silly as that sounds.

I have a new cutfile for you today!  (click on the pic to go to my dropbox)

It was inspired by this video from the Crafty Maven Getaway Channel.  I was really excited by the pyramid of hearts in both her layout and the layout she was scraplifting.  So thank you, Evi, if you happen to see this!

I personally have a silhouette portrait at home, but I thought this would be more usable on a cameo mat.  If you aren’t comfortable changing the cutfile yourself for a portrait mat, let me know and I can make one for the portrait and upload it.

Thanks for stopping by!  Adios!

Eastery Musings

Hey gang!  Happy Easter!  HE IS RISEN!

Today is just going to kind of be some of the thoughts banging around in my head.

A few weeks ago I spilled the blue mountain dew (I think it tastes like the blue part or a rocket pop) on my keyboard and the only key that is sticking- the A!!!!!!  Of all the keys on a keyboard, why the a?!  lol

I have a youtube video posted!  It is short and not very good, but I did a Tuesday Morning haul video.  My Tuesday Morning is kind of devoid of craft supplies compared to what I see others score, but I was happy to get some scrappy love.  If you’d like to check it out, click here.  It kind of makes me laugh, I have no likes and one dislike.  Gee, thanks.  lol

Finally, I was thinking about why I scrapbook vs. why others scrapbook.  I feel like there are two main reasons people scrapbook.  You either take lots of pictures that you want to remember in a pretty way, or you are scrapbooking because the muse tells you to, and you just so happen to place pictures on a layout.  I am in that second place, I really don’t take photos for memory keeping.  I am trying to change that and did start my first project life album, but I am only giving myself a goal of once a  month for that album.

Okay, I might have had more to say, but I am sick of erasing all the unwanted aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaas.  LOL

Bye friends!

Adventures in Silhouette

As poetic as that title sounds, I really am talking about using my Silhouette electronic die cutter.  (Is it really a die cutter if there aren’t any dies?)

I have been playing in Silhouette Studio and I think I am going to attempt start a series where I will upload a free cut file twice a month.  (You know my track record, I’m distracted easily… But I will try my best to keep this up.

Today’s is the word “amazeballs” that I created with two different fonts and then I edited a few letters to look more aesthetically pleasing to my own eye.  It is going to be a title to one of my pages of a picture of my husband and myself before we were married.

I am also going to work on uploading tutorials and other videos to youtube, I’ve been trolling long enough.  Keep an eye on my channel.  Right now I think all that is viewable is a video the birds and me talking to them.

2016

Holy Crow, where did 2016 come from?   And why in the world has it already claimed two of my favorite stars?!  David Bowie has been a lifelong obsession, and the more I saw Alan Rickman, the more he endeared himself to my heart.  They will both leave holes in the entertainment world behind them.

Anyway, the scrapbook bug has bitten me pretty hard again and I have been binging on youtube videos.

While in la la ephemera land, I found this website: http://etc.usf.edu/clipart/

Best. Historic. Clipart. Ever!  You must see some of the delicious awesomeness over there!!!!

And like the spastic ADD I am, I’m outtie!

On The Verge

Hi!

Happy 2015!

Things are in transition here in kurtzcrafts land. I’m going to let my domain expire, and I’m trying to decide what to do with the blog… Why? Because I’m buying a yarn store!!!! I can’t give any details until the deal is done, but I will keep you posted.

Did you know I use ebay? I’m in the process of a mass destash of my craft supplies and other misc. items. http://www.ebay.com/usr/missi_eagles

Stay tuned and thank you for putting up with my fickle tendencies to blogging lol
